To Blog Or Not To Blog

In the article "To Blog or Not To Blog?", it states how blogging is declining within the generations of new media users. Users between the age group of 18-29, also known as the millennials, make up only 40% of the blogging community. Although blogging is still in use, the new generations seems to perfer facebook over blog sites, since its "like" applications bring out more users together. Its estimated that 31 million internet users in the United States are bloggers. Even though its demonstrated that young adults are not the average bloggers, younger generations (iGeneration) are blog readers and their activities in blogs are beginning to drop.

In my view, I happen to agree to the articles claim because I am part of the millenial age group and I perfer using social networks like Facebook over blogging, mearly because with Facebook, communication and chatting with friends takes less time than with waiting for somebody to comment on your latest blog entry. Blogs are dun to read but the demand to keep up with updating it can be a handful and too much stress. With Facebook, users can take some time off without having to think about updating every day or week but maybe once in a while without people demanding that they update.

Warm-Up Activity 5/4/10

The photographer used the elements of "Six Appeal" in order to help get the message to readers by using them all during a growing news story. The use of color, especially the shade, shows a kind of symbolism of the iimigration bill as a dark cloud hovering over the hispanic people. It also makes the photo powerful by putting a young child, whose family might be seperated because one or maybe both of his parents may be deported for being illegal. Its showing how a child sees the bill, which can touch the heart of viewers.

Social media is a new wave in interaction that is not only faster but it is used by people all over the world. Is thre any examples of social media? Why yes there is, and they are right under your very on eyes. When you access Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and even through texting on your cellphones, you are using social media. Social media is changing the world because it makes a change in the way we communicate with one another. Seems like the age of talking with someone on the phone is ending because the phone has not only text messaging systems, but also internet access in which you can access your Twitter or Facebook account much faster.
